Khultan V was the last king of the city of Pradesh in the northwest of ancient Khemri and a deadly enemy of the Liche priest Nagash. His army has been locked in fruitless combat with those of his neighboring kings for untold centuries, dying again and again in ageless frustration in a cruel parody of the life they once possessed. The monotony of this existence is on occasion broken by incursions of the living from Araby or the lands beyond. The monotonous circle of Khultan V's existence was broken during one such incursion by an evil necromancer who contrived to strike a bargain with the mouldering king. In exchange for the promise of eternal rest for himself and his people from the necromancer, Khultan V has agreed to fight on the necromancer's behalf wherever he may send them. This is the story of the battles that followed in pursuit of the necromancer's arcane goals.
